Tonight’s “intermission” in my film class was Four Kinds of Musical Film. Showed “Singin’ in the Rain,” “Your Song” from MOULIN ROUGE!, “Drive It Like You Stole It” from SING STREET, and Chemical Brothers’ “Star Guitar.” Recommended to inject some energy into a night class.

A few days ago they recalled a 2 million cars because of self-driving issues, which was largely met with claims of “it’s just a software fix.” Today Reuters says steering columns, suspensions, and wheel assemblies are failing and falling off new Teslas, and I don’t imagine software can patch that

It’s amazing that FRIENDS is as well known among my children’s generation as among mine. The inimitable energy Matthew Perry brought to Chandler Bing (or Miss Chanandler Bong, as I will always remember him) is a huge part of that. And after FRIENDS, it was always wonderful to see him. RIP.
