another thing the “just move out of your red state” people don’t get is how disabled people like me—who depend upon care from a team of medical specialists—can’t “just move” finding good doctors, therapists, primary care, etc. is not easy, fast or cheap

I've been seeing people saying that because JK Rowling routinely uses UK libel law to silence critics, Gaiman's failure to immediately do so shows his guilt. That's incorrect, and I think it's worth talking about why - it goes to important facets of defamation law abuse. 🧵⚖️

I get that some people are comfortable with mutual aid, but I feel really gross asking for help if I don't have some way to repay it, so, to me, these articles are my way of doing that. It's why I always say "if you find them useful/if you like them, please tip." I do not wish to be a burden

My articles are NOT paywalled because I want everyone, especially people who can't afford it, to have access to these materials At the same time, I have to pay $1100 for two of my diabetes meds (down from $1600! wow! /s) and my keyboard just died and I have to get a new one. I rely on tips.
