It sucks that that's how it is, but it's the way we had to play to get healthcare reform that means you can't be dropped by your company for having cancer. A future where Israel's apartheid is remembered the same way South Africa's is can happen with democrats. Not with republicans.

Elect them first, THEN work to get then to change their view on X. Democracy isn’t one large battle every four years. No candidate comes out perfectly formed around your values and priorities. Show up to defeat fascism, then stick around to fix everything else.

Library funding is almost always justified through patron numbers. The more people a library serves, the more funding it gets. So even if you don't regularly use a public library, get a library card. It costs you nothing and helps everyone in your community.
