Ugh. It feels like a steam bath out there. It's actually a little hard to breathe. In weather like this I sit in my air conditioned house or car and think about the homeless people and those in marginal housing who don't get to cool off. It's not just the misery – weather like this kills. 🥺

I wonder if that guy realizes that unless a mask seals to the face it doesn't provide much protection. Even the heaviest beard lets many more, much larger particles through than the material of the mask does. (When Ken was alive I insisted he shave enough of his beard for masks to fit properly.)

Does anyone know if the off-brand Air Tags are any good? I'm mainly concerned with distance – whether it would pick up the signal to beep from as far away as an Apple one would, and whether it's loud enough to hear when it beeps. Also how well it communicates with the network if it's not nearby. ❓

I'm not an art critic by any means but even I can see the lovely composition—graceful symmetry & pleasing subject, but given life and power by the tension of opposition (graceful curves and points, bright colors against pure white, the two colors opposites on the color wheel). It truly is art.

I had to go to the drug store to pick up a prescription – even this late in the evening it was like walking into a steam bath. Yuck. I'm very grateful for air conditioning at times like this. I can't imagine what it's like for homeless people or even anyone who doesn't have AC. I couldn't sleep.

That's a really good point. That ad was brilliant, but even if an ad isn't quite as sharply effective, any portrayal of what could well happen would be helpful. A good one would be a clip of him saying his "I could shoot someone on 5th Ave." quote along with someone intoning the new SCOTUS ruling.

I vividly remember the 1964 election, and how worried we all were that if Goldwater won we'd all end up incinerated. It was very scary. But as worried as I was back then, I'm much more frightened now. Goldwater had to work with others—the cabinet and other advisers. Trump does everything on a whim.
