Whichever Justice is holding up the opinion in the presidential immunity case is effectively exercising a pocket veto on efforts to hold Trump accountable for January 6th. Can we expect a dissent/concurrence from Alito or Thomas? Seems likely.

LLMs are useless for lawyering and other tasks involving actual analysis and understanding not because the technology hasn't gotten there yet, but because that's fundamentally not what statistical word association is capable of doing. Not only can't it understand, it's not even trying to understand.

Those statements would create controversy too. But it seems to me that defending clearly articulated values is easier than having values that you don't articulate but act on in ways that are obvious to everyone else. "Neutrality" as a value basically puts other people in charge of your values.

He's right. "Originalism" is about stringing together a collection of words to support a predetermined outcome. There's no need for fidelity to facts, reliable description of source material, nor even logical consistency. It's one of the few tasks large language models could do.
