Saw this news on The Damage Report today and it made me think about moving to Massachusetts. I hope my state does something like this, but I highly doubt it will. Way to go Massachusetts!

I often point out that when Reagan took office the national debt was about $900 billion even after we had funded two world wars, Korea, Vietnam, public works projects such as the TVA, built an interstate highway system, fully funded the New Deal and Great Society, put a man on the moon and more. 🤷‍♂️

but they're using it to pay for things like "tuition free community college" - that's just going to lead to education and breaking cycles of poverty! oh...wait...that's good. carry on.

California is, apparently, having significant budget issues because so many rich people left the state (and moved their businesses) after CA increased taxes. Is that a warning, or something that will balance itself out after a few years? I've no clue.

In related news, it turns out you CAN solve a lot of problems by throwing money at them. Especially if the problem is “not having enough money.”

The only thing that makes conservatives madder than taking away their money is then spending on needed social programs that primarily benefit the poorest members of our society. Blow it on aircraft carriers and they’d complain less.😉
