The Democratic Party’s reaction to their candidate having a bad debate substantially outpaces the Republican Party’s reaction to their candidate being convicted of multiple felonies, held liable for rape, and owing judgments in the hundreds of millions for defamation and fraud.

In lieu of debate prep, I'll be watching the Panama-USA match. Let's hope that gives me enough joy to get through the rest of the evening.

Yes, but have you been to a CVS recently? They're more disorganized than a wannabe-antiques shopfront selling flea market castoffs and run by somebody's 87-year-old hoarder aunt.

I don't wanna go out too far on a limb, but I think Trump is gonna say some lies this evening. Just, you know, worth keeping in mind.

Yes, this is the point. The state could fund actual public schools adequately, but voucher proponents explicitly don't want to do that. They want dollars to follow students out of the public schools; they want to gut public institutions. www.inquirer.com/education/pe...

As for the Euros, Ingerland were dire today, and France were, shall we say, unconvincing. Spain have been the class of the tournament so far, with Portugal and Austria also playing well. I doubt that all the pre-tournament hype teams will make it past the first elimination round.

Not trying to derail your discussion, but it's also a bit awkward for The Hill that the article gets the date of the primary wrong (says it's the 26th).

Endless VAR offside check on that Brazil goal. It really doesn't need to take that long.

No, it happens back east now too. Don't let me tell you about the one with the traveling exotic animal collection. Or the one with the monogrammed woven jute swag bags for all the attendees.

Someone asked if AI / LLMs would make my research easier by, e.g., helping me to collate large volumes of research instantly, sparing me a lot of grind & struggle. I told them that struggling w/ the research is actually essential to forming the insights that make the project interesting or valuable.

This is not a terrible idea; I think urban policies and development should try to make life better and easier for residents. But it's awkward to have this discussion in the absence of any mention of new housing construction. www.theguardian.com/world/articl...

Not going to fully rehash this for the 100th time, but yes, civil disobedience by def is unlawful. Universities and many other institutions have since the 60s permitted a certain level of civil disobedience so as to avoid students being killed by cops and seeming draconian. This spring was a shift.
