Oh dear, the Calamondin in the living room seems to be hosting several generations of little ants. Time to pause the chambermaid activities because guests are coming and clean up in aisle three. 🌱

The difference between how Republicans react when their candidate does something that will alienate voters v what democrats do is so vast.

Since I was in high school, is it no longer true that the person with the best, most cogent arguments wins a debate?
(And the loud, flamboyant one wins a reality TV show.)

I have Virginia creeper too, but at least it’s a North American native. So is trumpet vine so I see we called that aggressive, not invasive.🤣

There are some woods around here where the trees were killed by the vines. I tried to pull it up wherever I see it in the neighborhood.

After every rain, I pull Asian bittersweet seedlings from my paths thanks to my neighbor’s vines. 🌱 It’s time for another ninja raid into her woods with a lopper.

My arthritic feet find shoes uncomfortable, especially since the podiatrist said I have to wear orthotics all the time. He said, you wouldn’t take braces off your teeth just to relax would you? Looking back, were times I wanted to though.

I can’t eat hot so I bring my ghost and scorpion peppers to the community fridge. Although once, I brought a bag to a Mexican restaurant and the owner gave me a discount on my dinner.

They show up on the invasive plant atlas so that can’t be good. I’ve been trying to get rid of them but it’s never happening

Newly blooming: viburnum (Brandywine or Winterthur), threadleaf coreopsis, panicle hydrangea “bobo” (mistake, meant to buy a native) and my husband’s hopefully not too invasive Japanese spirea. All very, very thirsty. But watering is reserved for vegetables.

I took a Philadelphian to UConn today- horses, cows, a couple of sheep and of course ice cream. Zero interest in where grandma, papa and aunt used to live.

These are daylilies, some kind of hybrid, but they look very sad this year. Everything that doesn’t get watered. Looks very sad this year.

Those are the ones my husband called Asiatic lilies. Not that he knew all that much about plants. I can’t ever keep them alive more than a year or two.
