I don’t think many people realize or know that you can pay any amount for a subscription. Substack gets their cut and so does stripe. So want to give that weirdo $1 million? Sure but he nets about $870,000. I’d imagine a significant chunk of Substack’s corporate revenue comes from the weirdos.

Substack doesn't want to ban Nazis because it is more profitable with Nazis, and they have done the math: they lose more without Nazis. Most non-Nazis will remain, like on X. I hope this causes a surge in self-hosted websites. Besides, $5 for one author blogging 5-7 times a month is expensive.
