For those who don't know this story, which I first shared six years ago today....
This one time I got my days wrong at work and ended up alone in a room with my boss and the President of Ireland while I was on ketamine.

When Michael said, âyou canât just make up a number and call it mathâ it reminded me of my favorite quote from Lewisâs book Moneyball:
âWhen numbers acquire the significance of language, they acquire the power to do all the things which language can do: to become fiction and drama and poetry.â

I think this is what bothers me so much about it. It is just the employees looking at the manager and yelling, âYou all right! I learned it by watching you!â

What just happened with the Falcons taking Penix at pick 8? They just signed Cousins this off season, and now they are taking a 24-year old who will sit for two years?

Iâve been trying to pick up more games with silly cards to drive that point home.

Ironically, Mr. Lewis would later forget this, as he fell under the spell of the fictional, dramatic, and poetic numbers compiled by Sam Bankman-Fried.

I read this Bill James quote 20 years ago, in Michael Lewisâs âMoneyball.â Truer and truer by the day, in all aspects of our world.

What's the word for relaxing on a Sunday and *wanting* to do stuff but being kind of both over tired but also overwhelmed by too many choices and getting nothing done ultimately? :)
