This is about as open a call to authoritarianism as anything Trump has said.

Besides, there are 13 circuits of the Appellate Court. Upping the SCOTUS to 13 Justices is long overdue.

Republicans have come to view the political process as waging a civil war by other means. A lot of dems seem to either not realize this or not want to admit it.

Republicans consider norms useless protocols that only Democrats care about when power & its exercise, especially to block or crush your enemies, is the only game in town. Dems play political chess with the rule book on their laps while the Republicans are eating the pieces off the board.

Democrats learned that they need abortion to run on which is why they didn’t codify roe when they could not to mention all of the forced unwanted pregnancies labor force needed to keep end stage capitalism chugging along. They work hand in hand. It’s so damn clear. They’re all evil and complicit.

Packing the Court isn't even outside the norms. It fits squarely into the McConnell Rule* *McConnell Rule: Anything we do is justified by the fact that we had the power to do it.

Packing the court is cool and all, but the permanent solution is: no more court.

As long as you're prepared for potential backlash. Republicans packed the courts when they had a firm grip on the state and wanted to control the last major branch that could defy them. Eight years later and AZ has a Dem governor and there's a good chance this ruling will flip the court as well.

I often find myself wondering if Dems insisting on sticking to “norms” actually want the same things Republicans want and just pretend they don’t to get votes.

Last democrat to do this was FDR and I’m sorry to say, Biden is nowhere near that guy in terms of actual power leveraging.

Best I can do at City Hall is require financial and comms disclosure in exchange for putting Maple Grove ordinances under judicial review. The people have a right to know and a right to tell the bribed to piss off.

Norms are created by exercising power political norms are like safety regs they were written in blood and when an organization gets lax in enforcing them people die.
