I agree, but did you see the uproar over Biden’s relatively minuscule withholding of military aid a few months ago? He would get another Afghanistan Withdrawal-sized pile-on if he meaningfully restricted aid to Israel at this point, and his campaign absolutely would not survive it.

Two thoughts on this. First and foremost, it's not at all clear to me that Biden is actually hurting himself politically by supporting Israel. It's important to remember that the electorate in general is far more anti-Israel than people on BlueSky or Twitter.

Biden sees Netenyahu as transitory, while the Israel project is long-term/bigger picture. Basically, Biden is willing to sacrifice his career for Israel, not Bibi--but Bibi does a really good job conflating himself and his interests with Israel and its interests in American media.
