I went to my friend’s naturalization ceremony and was shocked to have so many feels, and actual tears. It was so powerful seeing the diversity of folks wanting to join our messy nation, and considering the lives they were leaving behind to do so.

Yes! I was in Germany for work and realized the river there, called the Donau by Germans, is what we Americans call the Danube. Lol. Why change that easy-to-pronounce name? German coworkers were bemused

I don’t know about the bank account. But when I was young, my dad set me up with a credit card (with very low credit limit so I couldn’t go nuts) so I could start building my credit score. Don’t have kids, so no clue about if there’s a minimum age for the kid, etc.
