Just called my rep AGAIN to tell them to sign onto this. Every D in the House should be a cosponsor. Yes, it won't pass the R-controlled House, but we have to make this an issue.

Please feel free to call your own rep if you feel similarly! You can find them here: www.house.gov/representati...

I will never understand how people are so chill about getting SARS-CoV-2 or giving it to other people given any case (even an asymptomatic one) can lead to disabilities folks may have to deal with for the rest of their lives. The stakes are high! (Wear a freaking mask, keep up on vaccination, etc.)

I see we've reached the "famous artist credibly accused of sexual assault wasn't actually a great artist and you're a chump for liking him" phase. Consider that pretending terrible people can't make great art helps terrible people who make great art whedon their way into vulnerable communities.

Hard to argue for the existence of a loving all-powerful creator when ANY of its creations are able to maim or murder one another, especially at indiscriminate scale.

Oh man, I never considered this. Every time I heard jokes about the Taco Bell "effect" I assumed it was just a little sprinkling of xenophobia. Never considered that as a vegetarian, my heavily bean-based diet might be giving me advantage on CON saves.

The lesson from France is that sometimes you have to hold your nose to defeat fascism. You can't beat it with your own ideological purity.

One in 66 of Americans have COVID right now. Statistically many of them will end up with Long COVID and some of them will 'fall by the wayside' (such vile language from the nation's epidemiologist). Avoid crowds, wear a mask, meet outside, test often. Don't be the cause of suffering for others.

This from Mount Sinai really made an impression on me. Really smthg that even being sufficiently aware of symptoms as to report them on a questionnaire does not necc make a dent in ppl’s self-conception as unaffected by Covid—some so convinced of it that they offer to help research in that capacity!

In case you think Project 2025 doesn't affect you or anyone you know, the plan calls for doing away with Social Security and Medicare as we know them. This will 100% hit you eventually, and it will instantly take money out of your parents' and/or grandparents' pockets.

seriously I cannot get enough. cry more. cry harder. understand that as long as people draw breath the opposition to fascism is stronger than you. whatever your reasons for being a fascist, know every time that your gains will be short ones which you'll relinquish in tears every. fuckin. time

My only issue is that for long term wear, the straps have to be set perfectly or I feel like it slowly slides up my chin. Still sealed but slightly uncomfortable.

A squire rushed in to the great hall.

"Someone," he shouted, "has taken the sword from the stone!"

The assembled knights halted their dinner.

"At last, a king?"

"Who?"

"I don't know," the squire said. "The sword is gone!"

Elsewhere:
"This," Indy muttered, "belongs in a museum.

I once wrote a fact check of a Morgan Spurlock book. He included what he said was a direct quote from the FDA that aspartame causes cancer. I checked the footnote. An FDA newsletter did publish that claim — but *only to specifically refute it*. That’s basically how Barrett quotes Madison here.

The thing that's obvious to everyone and that nobody can actually write in the press is that the American (and yes, I'm sure elsewhere too) right wing is led by bad people and the object is to make more people extremely bad in basically every respect. It's anti-society

I watched for a couple of minutes, but Diana was lying still with her eyes closed to conserve energy (not asleep). She is smart and creative and cool, and long Covid is tragic and awful and still a thing you risk every time you're infected. These are the reasons I still mask most of the time.
