You'll love Seattle. It's so car-hostile we hardly go there anymore. OTOH the hills make it terribly pedestrian and bicycle unfriendly. Holland loves bicycles because it's flat.

Speaking as someone who lives in the most bike-friendly city in the US (SUCK IT PORTLAND), once you get bike lanes and such in place, the amount of car/bike animosity goes WAY down. Much friendlier when everyone has space. That said, not all cities are good for bikes. Weather, terrain, etc..

The only well-planned and pedestrian friendly neighborhoods I’ve seen here in north Florida are all wealthy and rely upon huge fees to maintain green spaces and paths. Ironic that the only people with access to safe walking and biking are too wealthy to need it.
