Just gonna leave this here in case anyone happens upon this post. Data obfuscation is already happening and it affects real people right now who need you to not look away because itā€™ll be you someday. We all become feeble at some point. Our friends and our leaders need to acknowledge this.

So, so tenuous. I was also at a very vulnerable time as I had just lost my job the yr before after going thru a 1.5 yr ā€œreasonable accommodationā€ process at work while simultaneously finally being diagnosed with ME/CFS after being sick for 7 yrs. World crashing down, and everyone was like, nope.

90 disability orgs wrote a letter to @cnn.com asking them to make the Presidential debate more accessible and for them to cover at least some topics of particular interest to disability communities. They didnā€™t get a response. But I did.

Iā€™m still processing it. I deleted the majority of the contacts on my phone. Theyā€™re the perfect candidates for Appleā€™s rollout of AI auto sending bday greetings to friends. I assume they have no problem with that level of friendship/family bonding because thatā€™s how theyā€™re already treating me.

I'm heartbroken most days but there's so much to do; I want to hope people will move in solidarity. I hope people start masking again. Even if you feel weird, even if you begin imperfectly, even if you don't "feel" you need to. If you stopped masking you can always start again. Please please do.

Yet another aspect of ME/CFS thatā€™s been ignored by research but has known to patients for years and is ~Ā”surprise!~ showing up in Long Covid. This is the exact nexus of study that the NIH should make a priority. Many of us are hypermobile with Craniocervical and/or Atlantoaxial Instability.

2023 COVID deaths were higher than if weā€™d reintroduced polio, whooping cough, diphtheria, measles & mumps combined. 75k vs 43k, adjusted for population.
