It isn’t a Judiciary, it’s a far-right super-legislative chamber. Now that they think they’ve captured it for decades to come, they make no effort to hide it.

Also, the difference in situational awareness between Alito and Roberts has convinced me of one assertion:
He probably is the dumbest Justice on the Court.
Roberts is the Dean Phillips of SCOTUS, send skeet. (a more or less decent institutionalist fellow who is also utterly unaware that the world he used to live in passed him by at roughly the speed of light 12-ish years ago)
If his fellow travelers want to come to my door for my Pride flag (and presumably me as well) I'll be happy to disabuse them of any notion that the left doesn't have guns.

the differences between his responses and roberts were pretty fascinating. no one can say what roberts truly believes but he at least cares to keep up the appearance of impartiality. alito doesn't give a single shit.
Alito is definitely pro-insurrection. He has no business being on the US Supreme Court. Corruption, pro-insurrection, lying, believe Trump has total immunity, anti-science, pro-pollution, are some of the things that some of the Republicans on the US Supreme Court believe in.
If we can’t get rid of lifetime appointments, maybe we should at least have SCOTUS members undergo re-confirmation hearings every few years they’re on the bench. If he were being vetted for a SCOTUS seat right now, he’d be deemed disqualified.
I’m pretty sure the religious element is what many are missing. I don’t think the majority of Americans realize how different their version of Christianity is from others.
Alito is right that reactionaries cannot live peacefully in any society. They must always find someone to bully, dominate, or exclude. Liberals and leftists disagree on the limits of tolerance, but people like the Alitos reject tolerance completely - the only real victory is total victory.
Ya know, every republican in politics right now has said the exact same thing for the last 30 years, and it's amazing we never really did anything to stop them
