WBD's stock price has tanked ~78% since David Zaslav was announced as CEO— $32.68 on 05/19/21 to $7.32, today— to say nothing of the brand loyalty, goodwill, & creative talent he's destroyed. It is amazing & genuinely horrifying that anyone could fail this badly, & remain in a position of authority

Literally the first question a landlord asks someone applying to rent is what job they have and/or pay stubs.. disabled people don't work a lot of the time. It's anxiety inducing.

Good a time as any btw to remind you all that “gender-critical” ideology is in fact inherently homophobic: it seeks to define men and women on the basis of a normative, pseudo-scientific “role” in heterosexual reproduction. And they seek to enshrine that in law.

my sister, of course, can do with her half what she likes. holidays, a new car, doing up her home, tattoos, whatever she desires. for me, the government dictates what i can do with my own mother's bequeathing. we can't even use it to buy a place because we have no income for a mortage.

because that would be "deprivation of capital" - spending purely to get rid of money. so the government is basically saying, that inheritance of yours? after your mum died? that has to be used as your sole income. no treats. no holidays. just income. suck it, you poor loser.

so, this is fun. if i sell mum's house and split the proceeds (after debts) with my sister, i'll be signed off welfare because my capital will exceed their means tested limits. i won't be able to reapply for welfare until that money runs out - but here's the thing, i can't just spend it willy nilly.
