There was no GOP party platform in 2020, and Trump wants to shrink the proposed 2024 one. He opposes providing detail on how radical his second term will be because he knows its unpopular. Make no mistake: Project 2025 was written by Trump appointees & loyalists. Its their shared agenda.

When you run a store or a BackerKit, you can see all the analytics. Where people come from. It can get really granular. We launched the Lackadaisy store rebuild a few hours ago, and sales are humming along, and. Twitter isn't even in the top 5 referrers. Unthinkable, 5 years ago.

And heck, you can see that in Geometry Nodes over the last year, as they've introduced the ability to make tools with UI inside of it. Blender is a development environment with its own visual programming languages. Pretty powerful!

Making a Blender-based app that's a fake Adobe After Effects, most of the power is there all ready. Just having a 2d scene that's more than grease pencil, matte video without going to a seperate window, nesting comps, able to drag things around by eye instead of sliders, etc. It would by amazing.

So, the Blender Foundation 1) stops having to deal with add-ons and keeping track of their creators, 2) promotes a single centralized location for all free Blender tools, and 3) establishes the platform that will allow offering even more extreme Blender modifications. This is really huge for them.

...but this also starts to solve a lot of the maintenance and discoverability issues that have hung around add-ons for their lifetime. Many people don't know they're there at all. People argue several should be standard parts of Blender (Node Wrangler, notably).

Ton Roosendaal, Blender's creator, has been pushing for it to become more of a platform. His vision is for there to be an entire ecosystem of Blender-based apps with individual purposes and UIs, all developed on top of it, and I'm pretty sure the Extension Platform is the start of that.

To summarize, Blender has traditionally included a huge number of add-ons, that are packaged with the main program, but aren't part of it, and aren't maintained by the Blender Foundation. Some are considered quite important. This version of Blender aims to change that fundamentally.

In stead of a simplified version of the novel, how about a graphic novel adaption (checked out from the library?). It's probably more accurate then some simplified versions and some folks will find it engaging with beautiful art as part of it.
