This was such an issue when I lived in Arizona. I remember going to the eye doctors once and many of their consult tables had burn marks on them. Turns out they’d forget to put the mirrors away and when the summer sun hit, it would start smoldering the table.

Alito and Thomas said bumpstocks should go to Congress -- but the ban can go to STATES and Congress. This Congress cannot pass anything (see below). In every state without a law, someone should be introducing a clear Bumpstock ban -- and force a vote/use language of gun safety.

I read this as a kind of public breaking under pressure. There really are people outside universities trying to burn them down. There really are people inside universities trying to leverage that fact to increase their power in intramural and factional disputes, running around with gasoline.

Oooh if we are doing toaster oven discourse my whole thing is that a toaster oven is a like 90% replacement for a gas oven and a very good and cheap way to use slightly less fossil fuel and improve indoor air quality a lot.
