At least it’s a happy ending. My parents’ friends went to go see Into the Wild not knowing the ending and were like “It’s based on a true story, he had to get out, right?”

When I was a kid we watched this and I fell asleep before the end, so in the morning I asked my (older) sister how it ended and she told me they all died. There was no internet. I believed this for years.

I’m American (age 34) and I didn’t know if Apollo 13 was a success or failure when I first saw it. At the time, I knew Apollo 1 was VERY bad and then kind of lost track which ones successfully went to the moon. 🤷🏻‍♀️

When we were vacationing on Cape Cod in 2000, we took our 12-year-old son to see The Perfect Storm at the theater in Wellfleet. He did *not* know how it was going to end. There was no cheering.
