I find the Dorsey interview fascinating because his issue with Bluesky seems to be mostly vibes-based. He wants ultra-pro-free-speech vibes, and thought a protocol-based app would produce that, whereas we've ended up in a situation where borderline unmoderated X is actually the place he wants to be

With all due respect to Jack for having the vision to invest in decentralized protocols, we’ve carried out the work in a way I don’t think he fully understands. Bluesky is structurally open in a way Twitter has never been, but the design of atproto allows it to feel familiar and easy to use.

This Earth Day let us remember that ultimately its not the earth that needs saving, it is us, the planet will be fine through climate change, we will not, new species will evolve to deal with it, we will not. Need to stop framing this as some virtuous savior project it's a Save Your Own Ass Day

If libraries aren’t allowed to own digital books, we can’t preserve them either. You might not be able to access your favorite digital book next week, let alone share it with your grandkids one day 🕳️

Yeah Zuck doesn’t play fair. He copies or he buys. If you want my opinion on it, I say Elon can stay as chairman of X, but Linda (the CEO) should do more decisions by herself.

You’re entirely right. Unfortunately I don’t see BlueSky or any other X alternative growing bigger than X. Most of the time the big proprietary platform owned by Big Tech wins over the small and open-source one.
