Anyhow the best time to address the shit was yesterday, the 2nd best time is today. Demand everyone asking for your vote to support packing the court, stop giving your resources to the police, demand public housing, healthcare, childcare, education, transit, food support and a right to privacy.

I found I'm more sensitive to particular smells and noises now more than ever. The typical rumble of my family household now drives me up a wall to the point of living with noise-cancelling headphones on my head.

Being autistic and ADHD is challenging. Every day you feel your brain pulling you in different directions, from routines to chaos.

The liberation found in Queer Theory is helpful with the journey of unmasking as an autistic human. Understanding autistic masking through its lens highlights the complexities of identity and the importance of creating inclusive spaces & a world where we can explore ourselves.

This is why my incubator will NEVER know until I leave the house. I'm not giving her any chance to stomp on my identity and being for her own bigoted comfort. It's easier to block a number from another state than it is to constantly correct a stubborn bigot.

societal bias is societal BS tbh. To be the type of person too think one can't fit a diagnosis because of aged rhetoric is idiotic. Medicine evolves like all else, you shouldn't expect something enmeshed with a person's ability to function to remain static. If you do, you're in the wrong career. jfc

My novel is not part of an "asexual trend." If asexuality appears more frequently in recent books, it's a market correction as forces of erasure lose a little of their hegemony, and people who needed these stories finally get them. Our existence isn't a trend.

I have a theory called "the autistic threshing" which is what happens when autistic people encounter a broken or inefficient system, and try to logically interact or fix it, then end up broken and bleeding themselves.

Then there are the ones that use it to abuse themselves even though we're trying to stop doing that but the conditioning from years of masking and keeping the peace just makes it harder to unlearn those things. ...it just sucks.

Individuals who received the $1,000/mo or $500/mo payments were more likely to find a stable, full-time job than before they received the basic income. Results showed 45% of participants secured housing, while $589,214 was saved in public service costs. "It's freedom. It's freedom from poverty..."

So bummed to see people who "love" Heleana Targaryen for being autistic-coded last season now saying she's "ruined" or "emotionless" for responding to a traumatic situation the way a lot of autistic people (and non-autistic people, tbqh) do! Freeze and fawn are valid and common fear responses!

Any nugget of information in the sea of uninformed individuals can be seen as truth if you read it enough apparently. It's like, unless you've spent years studying these things or have lived the experience of it, don't try talking about it like you're an expert. Is that too much to ask these days?

reading about adhd and autism will get you a million posts and articles where people say shit like "ADHD is when you find it hard to focus; Autism is when you find the transition between being unfocused and focusing uncomfortable" like that's a sentence that fucking means anything

I don’t know if it’s a me thing, or an introvert thing, or an autistic thing, but I really struggle with unexpected social interactions. Like, I can make small talk comfortably if I know it’s coming, but if someone says hi and starts talking to me unexpectedly my brain doesn’t know what to do

I wish my memory held things better. I wish for so many things I love and have consumed, I could talk about them better. For an Autistic I'm absolute SHIT at being able to monologue about my Special Interests because of how little I can consciously remember and string together and then I feel bad. +

Me literally involving Elder Scrolls knowledge to the point of considering buying lore books/encyclopedias to have for reference with others. Much as I like YouTube lore videos, they aren't the best to help explain a SpIn to someone that knows little/nothing about it to begin with.

If your only counter in any conversation has "just because you're (insert race here)" anywhere in the sentence, you already lost. Just take it in stride and walk way with what little dignity you have left from peak years in high school. you're only making yourself the biggest fool in the end.

Honestly...it's sad some people actually think like this in the modern day. Trying to make a problem that isn't about race tied to it explicitly just shows that a person doesn't have a proper debate or argument in the first place.

I saw a thread on here about "small talk" earlier and it got me thinking about the whole autistic small talk thing. To me It feels like It’s just empty talk about things that don’t matter. During small talk that never ends I just zone out, literally wondering to myself when It’s going to end.
