So, my currently chaotic household that can't be quiet for more than a few hours a day ISN'T ideal for a potentially undiagnosed Autistic individual to flourish? Huh, I never would've thought with days of fatigue, disassociating, and shutdowns. I thought that was all normal. /s

yeah. the world is incredibly apathetic at this point and the systems are to blame mostly. when you're treated like a bunch of letters and numbers, you treat others in the same way and continue the cycle of apathy. It's sickening but it's the reality we live in sadly.

Being autistic is more than a list of traits in the DSM. It involves differences in how we communicate, our thought processes, memories, values, & interests, even our sensory perception. We literally don’t see the world the same as others. It fundamentally shapes every part of us, good & bad.

My novel is not part of an "asexual trend." If asexuality appears more frequently in recent books, it's a market correction as forces of erasure lose a little of their hegemony, and people who needed these stories finally get them. Our existence isn't a trend.
