+thinking further on this line, there should not be a scarcity of wheelchairs or other mobility +health aids such that folx gotta "prove" need. if for example someone abled is suddenly overtired or faint, *there should be a wheelchair or seating available* we should extend accommodations not limit

also the more abled ppl are taught better nuanced understanding of disability, the better off we'll all be... e.g. learning that wheelchair users aren't always unable to *ever* walk or stand, would prevent so many unnecessary aggressions/microaggressions/+ potentially even loss of benefits bc "fake"

thiss a slight tangent, but i'm struck by the thought that accommodations are more likely to be implemented/maintained when more ppl demand them. +that just as means-testing wastes more$ than automatic UBI, insisting on "proven" disability to justify resources that=universally beneficial is backward

+c) it's revealing of a specific kind of self-doubt that tells the holder they are not deserving of ~good things/admiration/etc~ if it turns out they share experiences with ppl outside the group they align themselves to. so much interpersonal +intellectual parsimony= born of need to be above others

thinking about how incensed (some) ppl get when confronted with the idea that ppl from a different social/professional status can still share commonality with them how a) it's misconception to imagine life experience as intrinsically non-overlapping +b) it's rooted in fealty to a strict hegemony
