Not sure why ChatGPT is being used to replace jobs that require actual thought when it should instead replace jobs that need good BSing skills given how confidently ChatGPT can just make things up.

My new startup is the BroFrigerator like a refrigerator but it listens to your conversations and chimes in with “well actually” statements. Just need a vc to give me a few million to get it off the ground and change kitchen conversations forever!
Dear Browser Developers: Please develop an on/off function so we can decide for ourselves whether we want to view AI images. I don't want to spend half of my browsing time figuring out what's real and what isn't. Congress: Required labeling would be nice as well.
There's been a lot of "What old social media post sticks in your mind only after all these years?" lately and I feel like the this "Virtual Dumbass" is going to become one of those for me.
Computer scientist here. That's not what we invented. First off, GPTs at their core were developed as translators. They translate information encoded in one language into another. Now "translation" and "language" are broad here. Overall GPTs are incredible at restructuring information.
I'd like to think if we got to robots before we overcame capitalism this wouldn't be as big of a problem and we'd just be making robot friends who are still silly sometimes but now we'll never know
A couple of years ago AI was struggling with the correct number of fingers (much as a 4-5 year old might).
I guess this is anthropomorphism of an AI - but it's like a child still, it's not cognisant enough yet. It will parrot information merrily, without always checking the truth of the source.
Artificial Dumbs already drive our cars!
That's why you have to be ready to take over from them at any instant. A type of job that we know for sure that humans suck at.
