A lot of comic strips farm out the art bc itโ€™s repetitive to them. The comic fills in the story. It became a huge pain to type radiology reports when managers decided to farm dictation out to nonEnglish speakers. So we made macros on a computer to speed things up. We entered the final touches

I remember doing art direction for a small indy game project and having to sit down with one of the artists who was very talented and just didnโ€™t have much game experience. Having to teach them a new visual language was easy because they at least understood the basics.

They canโ€™t take criticism yeh but even more importantly they just literally CANโ€™T EVEN DO the job. I feel like the butthurtness levels of not being able to work with necessary criticism are just them deflecting cause theyโ€™re completely unskilled in the first place *for most part.

Counterpoint--there are already multiple AI tools (MidJourney 6.0, Stable Diffusion using several different interfaces to cite two) that allow you to take an image you already created and just edit one piece of it, so part of the problem is *those people also didn't even know how you use AI tools*.

The limitation basically is that you can't use AI alone for stuff that requires fine-tuning, you'd still need a professional artist on staff or at least a professional photo editor. It can be a skill but not the only skill for a creative.

Even if we were to grant that there's a use case for AI in art (I'm iffy on this existing at all but I'm not an artist) AI can't help you do anything you didn't already know how to do without AI. This is further proof of that.

Honestly this points out the biggest failure of A.I. prompted stuff. You can't narrow it down to a specific thing, or just change a little bit. And remakes the entire thing. And so when you need anything that has actual specificity it fails absolutely.

My favorite part of this is the complete (and predictable) inability of Ai bros to take basic critique. Every professional artist does this on a DAILY BASIS. Accepting valid criticism is the art school litmus test to see who can hack it in the industry. If you can't take it, you won't make it.

I predicted this is 2021 when clip alrogirthms were first introduced. People who don't know art principles and haven't practiced them will still be at a major disadvantage to those that do. So it comes down to ai assisted vs non ai assisted for actual jobs. Ai bros stay perpetually unemployed.
