a small PSA - every author, when getting an offer, should be asking what the publisher's AI position is along with the deal terms. You may not be able to change things, but the publishers need to be made to state their LLM, narrator and artwork position ever time.

Does anyone else use sites like Fakespot when shopping on Amazon? It changes the process from choosing between 1,000 similar 5-star products to finding the single product among them that actually earned its ratings. Helpful, but a helluva slog when buying a small thing but quality matters to you.

Minimal downsides that might have other causes, 39% reduction in staff turnover (especially refuse collectors) is a massive cost saving, and there were faster planning decisions, more rapid benefits processing and quicker call answering. And the tories slammed it as ideology. Nice one libdems

It’s quite long (20+ pages)but you can pause it and come back. The format is approve/disapprove on a lot of proposed changes with a text box for each to give comments and a final text box at the end for general comments. A lot of it is gating topics to specific age groups but comments can be broader

I've kept most of my digital business records for 30 years and at least one of the machines I need to be able to read them. I have printed everything possible. It's not possible to print video. Digital preservation requires both the media and the tools to display it. It's not simple.

I'm with you there! One thing they can do as soon as they hit voting age is engage their bullshit detectors & turf the politicians who are enabling the problems. One of the best classes I took in uni was "Techniques of Persuasion" teaching how our buttons are pushed to our detriment & their benefit

This is where I have a small, boring bit of advice, from my time managing a customer contact centre for a central government department: write letters to your MP asking them to raise issues with secretaries of state; make the letters unique, not copy-and-paste campaigns; be direct, not cranky.
