Those preparing for the long dark teamtime of the soul (ie AO3 planned outage) I would strongly recommend downloading the epubs or pdfs of your current and planned reading lists. Tabs and bookmarks can wipe if your browser decides to refresh a page & the site is down. Avoid the anguish.

I think in our heads we can be the people we want to be with the characters we love, we can erase the things we struggle with, and so it's easier to believe we have the value to be loved by them in return. I'm absolutely sure real me would not do nearly as well as imaginary me. 🫤

I started reading fantasy because a wonderful teacher in my primary years read Lion, Witch, Wardrobe to us. But otherwise the closest ever was a high school class where a teacher played the War of the Worlds album in class & I just sang along because I knew the entire thing.

Giles is also rather distracted by his intellectual bonding with Jake Calendar, because quality occult nerd time in a strange land is a must. Funny how he keeps noticing Jake's remarkably perfect dark skin. Jake does live a long & healthy, if somewhat regretful life, after returning to Europe. 😁

I think bisexual and homophobic would cover it. Recently did a complete rewatch, and was saddened to realise that Xander really was a nasty, self involved little boy all the way through. My recollections were of problem moments, not an entire arc of undermining the relationships of every female.

I don't understand why quality brands wouldn't be climbing over each other to supply these - surely the best advertising is to have a super grateful user also go 'wow, this is a great product, maybe I should keep using it'. Building brand awareness and also doing some good - winner pr.

We really should just call "natural gas" by its actual name: methane. It's a fossil fuel, and burning it adds carbon to the atmosphere. The word "natural" is really unhelpful here, and it needs to go.
