First thing I see this morning is one of my cat’s friends from next door sneaking into her catnip stash. She even knocked the cage off of it for better access. Bette watched from inside but didn’t actually seem to mind 🥴🤷🏾‍♂️

The worst thing about the power outage was my bb Asha. She loves her water fountain more than anything and it wasn’t working. She meowed in front of the bathroom door for hours begging for running water. Still water simply wasn’t good enough and she is traumatized!

It's so hot. I've been changing out the water in the garden birdbath every couple of hours for cold water because it's just made out of black plastic and the water gets really hot. This last time, I put a tray of ice cubes in it too.

We stayed at an Airbnb with a massive gas leak and the owner kept blaming the previous occupants for making "ethnic food". We ended up calling the gas company, which found 3 major leaks while we were packing up to escape. The way Airbnb handled it we couldn't leave an honest review

I feel like crypto and now AI are just tiny schemes by the fossil fuel industry to create insane energy demands to combat renewables. Texas, the oil state, will literally pay for blockchains “mines” energy because it goes back into the pocket of fossil fuel execs which then gives them a kickback.

Happy to report that Fruit Salad, the little mango plant I encouraged to grow from a pit, is in the process of putting out several new leaves. Hopefully my habit of yelling "LIVE! GROW!!" at them every time I water them is helping.

Not all bats live in colonies! Eastern red bats are a solitary, migratory bat that lives in trees. They often snuggle down into leaf litter to keep warm, which makes them vulnerable to being grabbed by dogs or cats. That's what landed this young one in rehab with us.

I went outside to water my plants and change the water in the bird bath. I was probably only outside for ten minute and the sweat was just rolling down me. It's hot. I'm going to change out the bird water again in the afternoon because the sun makes it too hot for the birds to use.
