Nothing says #July4 like a juicy slice of watermelon. This delicious fruit doesn't just appear on our picnic table. It takes a lot of work. An average watermelon weighs 20 lbs. It's 100+ degrees in Bakersfield today. Can you imagine harvesting them in high temps? #WeFeedYou

Must've dropped a piece of hay the other day because Max just brought it to me to tell me it's grass, but not the kind he eats outside, so can he please just go outside? This dog was outside 30 mins ago. It's already 80* out there, why would he want back out in that? Ugh.

Cristina's harvesting mandarins in Visalia CA. The temp this day reached 101° & should reach 111° today. She wears thick long sleeved clothing to prevent getting sunburnt in the harsh summer months. The fabric can also wick away sweat, keeping her cooler while working. #WeFeedYou

Our friend the Red-spotted Toad lives in southern Chile and Argentina! In Spanish they are also known as the Sapo de Bosque or "Forest Toad", which seems less descriptive since they are covered in red spots! (photo by Daniel Stange)

Don't ask for help was one of my earliest lessons. Starting this campaign was hard. I sobbed every time someone donated because I expected nothing but I knew I wasn't going succeed alone and vulnerability sucks. My job is weird and has a rather hazy definition, so I've interpreted it as, "Do things that make the clients less overwhelmed." Which naturally leads to doing So Many Things, and I am still very disabled, so my body isn't keen on this whole thing. But it's helping others (and money) so I do it.
