the biggest reason the political conversation is so fraught right now is all the options suck Biden stays in and we deal with age stories every day until the election? bad! Biden drops out and Harris tries to step in and run? bad! there is no obvious solution, so every path is easy to get mad at

Math wise he’s the only one that can win the presidency vs Trump. There is a mathematical advantage to being the incumbent, also the fact that the economy etc are all trending positive. Changing him out for Harris would be a huge gift to the GOP while Project 2025 lurks

The media has really gone all in on pushing for things to happen that make easy stories to write. "Candidates give speeches" is hard to make intereating and informative, whereas Biden backing out and the drama of the open convention creates stories that write themselves.

Can I throw an idea out here. Biden needs to make one killer add and run it into the ground like: Start with a sequence of every J6er and staff member of his along with their jail time adding up -> then at the end Biden and Harris say “we endorse this ad because we are tough on crime.”
