Chris Cornell has been gone for 7 years. I still think about him and his music every day. No matter how shitty things are, how hopeless things seem, I still find comfort and hope in his lyrics and melodies. Music is truly special. I hope future generations will have real artists like him.

Intelligent life could be very common on super earths, but those life forms may be unable to leave their planet. The escape velocity required of 2 or more earth masses is significant. Intelligent life on those worlds may need to advance much further in order to leave, or may never leave at all.

The Supreme Court dismissing challenges to the FDA's approval of mifepristone is good news, but the fight's not over. A MAGA-controlled FDA could effectively ban all abortion medications without even involving the courts or Congress. Abortion access is on the ballot this fall.

Our current best space based telescope, JWST, is probably not able to characterize earth sized planets around Sun like stars. If red dwarfs are extremely hostile to life (this seems likely), we may not confirm exobiology until future missions.
