The pandemic is not over. Our government should be providing free tests, masks, and vaccines—bare minimum. We need indoor air quality rules for every workplace in America, universal paid leave, and national healthcare. Reinfection over and over every year with no government action is bullshit.

COVID positive. Had to check the test against a mirror to see the line. Been wearing a mask in public indoor spaces, but had some friends over. Be careful out there! So far, my symptoms are mild, but this isn’t fun.

Oh, there are no good options here. Any replacement would have less than 4 months to build a national campaign against Trump, who has been running since he lost basically. It’s an awful situation.

Not great how a major federal contractor is rife with sexual harassment and nothing is done about. NLRB filed a complaint, which was paused by a GOP hack judge. Federal gov't keeps plowing money into it for work that either shouldn't happen or should be gov't run. www.bloomberg.com/news/feature...

There’s a ton of denial on the Dem side. It’s like…choose your own reality. Like, they do not want to deal with what’s happening so they won’t. It’s a trauma response. But it won’t stop Trump.

Lmao they just changed the title of the piece from “Why I don’t vote” to “Why I won’t vote” rather than tell readers that the guy actually does vote

In light of this insane decision, Biden should issue executive orders that help the people and then simply disregard the court when it tries to strike it down. Cancel all student debt. Give the Dreamers citizenship. Open abortion clinics on federal land. Say they’re all official acts.

And you backed Clinton in the primary even though the left was warning it was a mistake. And she lost. I think we can call it a wash and look forward. Because that’s 8 years history. Now, we have to beat Trump. And we have save democracy. Because what Trump plans is the culmination of a 50 years

Yes, very bad column. Agreed. But right now, I’m not wrong. And as someone who warned that Biden was a risk bc of his age-related decline but then supported Biden in 2020 against Trump anyway—and will do so again if he’s ultimately the nominee—I think it’s a fine critique to make.

The case of Murthy v. Missouri had the potential to deal a devastating blow to the government and its ability to combat online misinformation. Right-wing dark money groups like the Heritage Foundation and the Brownstone Institute were frothing with excitement. But they were disappointed Tuesday.

The Supreme Court's most radical move in the past two decades has been to assume power that was historically wielded by other branches and to place absurdly particular limits on the way those branches exercise the power left to them to the extent that the Court effectively takes that power, too

“Money may not win every policy battle or every political race, particularly when those races are well-publicized...But while the win rate may not be perfect, money is a good predictor, which is why so much of it is flowing into our political system.”

Even before mask bans become law, simply the act of politicians speaking about mask wearers as criminals is stigmatizing a critical public health tool, and encouraging harassment of marginalized groups. That is incredibly reckless and making our cities more unsafe.

Adams and Hochul are a truly wretched combo for New Yorkers, and it has me wondering - what are/were some of the worst mayor/governor combos for major American cities?

When dealing with pseudoscience, the devil is in the detail - in this case, narrowing down a specific "Lab Leak" hypothesis.

In Dr. Chan's @nytimes.com OpEd there is, however, a very specific hypothesis for COVID-19 origin.

It's a prime example of conspiracism vs empiricism, so let's dive in.

NEW: Far-right extremists and pro-Israel Jews may seem unlikely allies, but the overlap is real. For example, a Jewish man who was stabbed at a KKK rally years ago found himself agitating against pro-Palestine student demonstrators with a man who had rallied for white lives with his attacker. Wild.
