I dared to question him, so a disturbed guy denigrated me in front of my boss and other coworkers/friends. My other coworkers, both men (like the gaslighting denigrator), leaned in quietly. Whatever happens, it feels good to know good people will push back against hatefulness. I’m thankful. 🙏🏽

The flowers of Phedimus kamtschaticus (#Crassulaceae) have free carpels (#apocarpy). Flowers visited by pollinators have darker carpels. Pollinators learn to forage on virgin flowers with light-colored carpels, where the rewards are richer. More efficient #pollination. #Botany #PlantScience 🌾🧪

In the 1930s, most farms didn’t have electricity. It didn’t make sense for utilities to run wires to rural areas. FDR helped solve this and electrify farms. Same with broadband today. Biden will have gotten every part of the US broadband by the end of the decade.

As usual Asian people have been left out of the discussion about masks and hate. Asian people have been attacked throughout the pandemic for wearing a mask. A mask ban would further stigmatize mask wearing and encourage further harassment and violence against mask wearers.

UNC Asheville is going to close its drama, philosophy, religious studies, French, and German depts because financial consultants recommend this. These consultants only count the number of majors, not the number who take and are influenced by courses from depts other than their major. Shame!

interesting flag choice considering the Joan of arc flag is used by the French new right as a ralling cry for extremist views. Agree @darinself.bsky.social! I watch PBS News Hour and see the same overly-reverential approach by correspondent Marcia Coil. It comes across (to me, at least) as less than objective. No wonder the justices have distorted views of themselves.
