Heard the Heritage goon behind the right wing junta 2025 project on NPR today. Asked why the authoritarian agenda is opposed to action to limit global warming. Answer: "Because of those poor children mining rare earth minerals in Africa. Think of the children." Shameless and sickening.

Is it really hard to see that Mark Penn's ratfucking GOP friendly Problem Solvers Caucus is behind the push to get rid of Biden and deliver the White House to Trump and the plutocrats? Is it? No it's not. The editors of big papers are many things, but not stone cold morons. They are on board.

under Roberts's opinion, I'm not sure you could use the show as evidence of bribery. maybe you could use re-airings of the show as evidence. maybe you could use the AV Club's summary of the episode as evidence. maybe you could only use the AI aggregation of the AV Club summary as evidence...

The fact that only the president enjoys complete immunity, and that he also has the power of pardon is part of what is so terrifying about the ruling. It means that those beneath him are entirely at his good graces and arbitrary will. It's a power machine, not a check on his power.

IMO the biggest problem with Biden's age is the fact that Trump wants to be a dictator on day one and it doesn't look like there's anything or anyone in our institutions that are willing or able to stop him.

Some initial thoughts on the UK elections. 1. It confirms once again that when a center-right party veers to the hard right to weaken the far right, it ends up doing the opposite. After purging moderates and going full-on wingnuts and fever swamp, the Tories got decimated by Reform, not Labour. 🧵

I mean, FFS: Biden has lost a few steps? No fucking kidding! But Trump has been ranting incoherently, about his dream of becoming Caligula, for 9 years now. Biden gets tired and loses his train of thought sometimes. Trump gets tired and promises to execute immigrants to feel better.

The narrative abides
