I feel I am a product of my place and time. I don't consider that a positive (or negative), just a fact about me. I struggle to connect with other people in the best case. The further I am from MA, where I grew up, the harder it is. When I lived in CA it felt very foreign, same w Knoxville, TN.

What gives me hope are the normal people trying to save things. People running for school board against moms for liberty freaks, college kids protesting, local newsrooms investigating corruption etc. They inspire but also make me pissed off at the powerful people/institutions that won’t defend them

i was just going to make a post about this. if trump decides you are an enemy of the state or a “threat to national security” and has you deported, citizenship or not, there’s nothing you can do to get home. he has full legal power to render you stateless.

My relationship to religion is an odd one. I was raised atheist and I sort of default to a worldview of atheism despite being nominally Christian now, but the one prayer that resonates with me is a prayer to god or the universe for mercy and forgiveness. "We know not what we do."
