I think what makes me most annoyed about the last 24 hours is the absolute certainty a certain class of pundit from one specific city has brought to bear. No ability to think probabilistically or across multiple variables. No ability to update priors. All rhetoric, no analysis. It's shocking really.

In post-debate analysis, CNN panel has talked about how bad Biden did and went all the way to Dems replacing replacing Biden — but has only said Trump didn’t do well either and lied. They have not yet *mentioned* that Trump continued to say his 2020 election lies tonight.

When I saw Biden at a fundraiser early this month, he sounded tired and a bit feeble, particularly contrasted with Obama talking right next to him. But the choice between enfeebled and a narcissistic sociopath surrounded by younger narcissistic sociopaths is not even a little difficult.

this is a point i've been making a lot lately, but the structures of the conservative legal movement, the federal courts, their capture of the 5th circuit and NDTx, and the way individual incentives work within these structures all combine to make SCOTUS the de facto *leftward* bound of the movement

Occupying a building (and entering it by force) is qualitatively different than occupying a lawn, and is likely to draw qualitatively different responses. A wise university would still make its response proportional and measured, but students can expect less patience.
