Today, Senate Democrats tried to pass the Reproductive Freedom for Women Act, a bill calling for codifying protections from Roe v. Wade into federal law. And yet again, Republicans blocked Democrats' attempt to protect our reproductive freedom.

But there won’t be 6 viable candidates after the primary. You can imagine strange things that have never happened and ask what if, sure. Doesn’t make it more likely they’ll happen. Unless the two party system changes, we will continue to have our candidate by the convention. Which is a formality.

Well, he didn’t lose 16 percent like Trump. It isn’t news that many people would like two different candidates. But these are the two we have to choose between in November. Glad seeing Trump reminded a double digit percentage of voters who he is.

The real reason for NYT's hate for Biden is that A.G. Sulzberger, the heir to, and chairman of NYT is their first leader who was not able to land an interview with the sitting president since FDR. He appears to have taken this very personally.

Perhaps voters indeed were reminded of how awful and dangerous Trump is. Since the press doesn’t feel the need to point that out, voters have to see it for themselves to remember what a shitshow he was.

One of the bigger problems that has revealed itself over the last couple weeks is that a lot of people in the upper echelons of our society--reporters/editors, wealthy donors, celebrities, etc--just generally feel like the consequences of politics will never fall on them personally

The one with the most delegates would be the nominee. That’s what the primaries were for. Basically, Primaries = Election Day Convention = certification of the votes

CNN can go to hell. I’ve stopped even bothering to check the home page every morning, as it’s the same “Biden is old” headline every day. My god, how lazy are they? You certainly don’t need a multitude of reporters if you’re going to just regurgitate the same stories every day.

I also am the base. I’ll vote Biden or whoever runs - although anyone who thinks the GOP isn’t frothing at the mouth for a new candidate about whom they can start the firehose of lies is fooling themselves. That guy’s entire feed appears to be anti-Biden posts and reposts. He’s on a mission.

Every page can be an ad. This is why I'm livid with the Trump v Biden bullshit. It's the platform! You're voting for the platform! Who wears the suit doesn't matter as much as what legislation they're fucking signing!

I dunno, it seems to me that if journalists really wanted to, they could do a deep dive on Project 2025, splitting out dozens and dozens of articles, one for each federal agency and right that Project 2025 would eliminate. But instead, they're claiming Biden has Parkinson's? WTF?

Gave up on him after the Restore Sanity rally. Had all those people in one place and instead of encouraging them to get out and vote - didn’t even have to say which candidate! - he basically just said “both sides suck.” What a fucking waste of a chance to make a difference.

My Solomonic view is that NYT—perhaps the president’s primary persecutor recently—showed its whole ass with this swiss-cheese Parkinson’s specialist story. It’s blatantly copied from right-wing charlatans, unvetted. And a nimbler White House and campaign would be making it pay dearly for that.

Trump continues to benefit from the very strange norm among journalists that "if it's said in public, it's not a scandal." How much more space has the "Biden is old" story been given than Trump's promise to jail his political opponents? www.nytimes.com/2024/07/01/u...

What??? Using notes??? Time for the 25TH Amendment! Let’s have Congressional hearings, where no one ever uses notes! Side note: Trump doesn’t need notes. Know why? He just makes everything up. That’s definitely way more presidential!

This is super important work. And it looks like it's actually having an effect. Normal people learn about Project 2025 and are scared as shitless as they should be. The Nation, The New Republic, Rolling Stone, Boston Review and others are doing the work that NYT and WaPo are neglecting.
