I didn't choose trauma, & I didn't choose my vulnerability to addiction. I AM choosing recovery-- & no one gets to tell me I can't choose it. My old conditioning will try to tell me I "can't" recover, or I don't deserve it, or whatever-- but that's just old BS (Belief Systems).

Feeling good might take a bit longer. I still feel like I've been steamrolled. Though there's definite improvement. But I've been chronically Ill for 20 years. I can pretty much joke about anything.

Handcuffs *are* easy to get out of if you happen to have EDS like I do 😂. I'm gumby. They legit can't hold me. But no you can't pick them w/a pen or paperclip. I, uh, may have taught myself to pick locks as a curious teenager bcs everyone in the books I read could do it. 😂 Still can't pull up.

I've added feeds. I feel accomplished. I have actually been to the doc's today, so pretty productive. I still look like a corpse (and trust me, my forensic anthropologist ass would know), but I suppose that's par for the course of almost dying and being on massive scary amounts of blood thinners.

It really is. It got worse when I became a professional editor. The sheer levels of expectation for me to share what I know (for free, of course) is kinda objectionable. And I actually do? All anyone has to do is either follow me or my editing tags and I share all the time. It's just weird.

Acknowledging that dissociation f*cks w/ our decision making isn't an "excuse." It's very often the missing puzzle piece that cracks the code for what we need to do to realistically limit our vulnerability now, & forgive ourselves for past "choices" that weren't really "free."
