Also, so what if poor people have big tvs? We have them in part because rich people keep basically throwing them away to get bigger ones. At goodwill yesterday they had a row of fairly large flat screen tvs discounted down to $10 each! The one I have in my room was $35 there a few years ago.

On top of everything else wrong with it, having space for a library is a *huge* luxury. When I was renting, I could manage two bookshelves in my bedroom; I had to curate what books I owned to fit them and even that was a squeeze. Having room for any library is something you can't do without money.

Rich people have TVs in rooms they never go in and private libraries some never use. Poor people have been buying second hand books for as long as I've been alive. Many can't afford the subscription fees let alone a TV. When I was young and poor I always had books but didn't have a TV for years.
