You vote for Biden. He’s not saying that folks can’t have access to trans surgery. Without him in office, there’ll be no trans surgery allowed - even 18+. Besides, surgeons don’t, typically, do the surgery until at least 18.

There are complications here (i.e. that minors don't usually need and aren't given gender affirming surgeries; that cisgender minors often _are_; that this is the ny times and Ben Shapiro saying this), but also, it wouldn't surprise me if the administrations comments were they simple and unhelpful.

I am legitamately confused. How is restrictions on gender affirming surgery for minors a bad thing? I mean the medical industry already has that as a standard. The only gender affirming surgery that might even be considered permissable is top surgery for transmen age 17+.

Hi, I'm a trans person and I want to say that gender affirming surgery for minors is exceptionally rare, PARTIALLY FOR MEDICAL REASONS! The youngest I know of was 16, so this isn't as big or contentious as people are making it out to be. Puberty blockers are front line care for trans minors.

The Adm urged the removal of age guidelines because they said it could spur bigotry. Removing them wasn't to say minors can't get care, but to say there shouldn't be a minimum. Originally it had said minimums of 14-16 depending on the treatment.

Biden got free transgender surgery for army soldiers. As far as I can tell, this article is in response to him saying 8 year olds should not require gender affirming surgery. Most 8 year olds aren't certain of their orientation and don't need to be. Trump thinks trans folks are abominations. Nyet.

Texas GOP manifesto, page 24, says "We oppose all efforts to validate transgender identity". The White House only limited it to minors. If you want trans people to exist in the US, the Dem is the better option on this topic. They're not "a good option", but they're the lesser of two evils right now
