Francie is here with a BLEP vs. MLEM tutorial. A blep is when the tongue is just hanging out at rest, stationary. Mlem is an action word for when the tongue is performing a licking motion - hence the name which is an onomatopoetic interpretation of the sound it makes.

didn't know Joel well, but we shared interests and ran in adjacent social circles. Our convos online numbered in handfuls, but I thought of him as a big part of the corner of the internet I spent time on, and it's going to be unfathomably emptier online without him. Rest in peace, Joel.

I only knew Joel a little bit. He could be irascible and even argumentative, but all because he cared so much about the quality and integrity of comics, animation, art, and pop culture. He had a wealth of knowledge and loved to share it. His skill as an illustrator made it look easy. I’ll miss him.

I’m deeply, deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Joel Carroll. He was a wonderful person and exuded kindness and creativity. The man loved comics and toys with all his heart. I’m sure many in the associated communities knew him and felt the same.

I just learned that we lost Joel Carroll. Absolutely awful. I only knew Joel online and was a huge fan of his art, but also if there was a sweeter guy around then I hadn't heard about it.
