The 14th Amendment says if you were involved in an insurrection you can't be president. SCOTUS said they won't allow anyone to enforce that because of reasons they made up. The Constitution doesn't say the president is immune from criminal law. SCOTUS decided he is because of reasons they made up.

Reporters *could* shout questions at John Roberts et al when he shows his head outside his workplace or home, as they sometimes do with other significant political figures. They just choose not to because they like to help preserve the Court's "we aren't politicians" charade.

I'm afraid even a dissent like this written in plain language is not enough. I think it's time for KBJ, Sotomayor, and Kagan to draw straws for which of them is going to hold a press conference or even go on the news shows and just say plainly to the American people what is happening.

a very important quality in a big media company pundit is not only being completely full of shit all the damn time but also not caring one bit that everyone who can count to ten without using their fingers understands you to be completely full of shit all the damn time.

A fundamentally undemocratic court that has been controlled by Republican nominees for 55 consecutive years just seized control of the whole damn government. Yet another reason Democrats should center the Supreme Court in their campaigns. (More on this soon!)

Having a Supreme Court delivering the right’s wettest dreams by stomping on every possible freedom should be enough for Republicans. But they’re still enraged, aggrieved and flying coup flags because it’s not enough. They want Trump because they want a dictator.

The media (which wants Trump to win) already setting the framing for the debate. Biden must be "vigorous" - i.e. avoid even a single misspeak or stumble - while the expectations for Trump are merely that he not spend the entire debate screaming incoherently.
