When Chinatown opened, people said "They'll be teaching Robert Towne's screenplay 50 years from now." That was 50 years ago. Towne was one of the true legends of New Hollywood (and knew it), wrote some great movies and brought brilliance to many others. What he knew, you can't teach. RIP.

I’m starting to think Biden should just resign as President and let Kamala Harris be an interim commander in chief until Trump resumes power next January. This way America can have a first woman President and her having the power of the office might give her instant gravitas for a Hail Mary play

Reading pieces on what Biden needs to do before a debate where the other guy’s a psycho who’s about to be sentenced for crimes in a couple of weeks; it’s like being in a restaurant when a fight has just broken out, asking one of the servers if you can see the dessert menu. I’d say “check please!”
