The discourse around biden needing more sleep is fully insane. Does no one remember "Executive Time," the thing Trump spent the majority(!) of his schedule on where he would just watch TV and tweet? Dude was categorically unable to fulfill any of the demands of the office and the press barely cared

"Executive Time" fell out of the coverage of Donald Trump in the most incredible way. Nobody writing about his quest to become president again ever mentions the fact that he hated the job when he had it and he couldn't and wouldn't really do it!

Suprise: unwashed fascist ghoul Matthew Walther - who wrote a column that the New York Times just published advising Americans not to vote - did in fact vote in 2020 and 2022. It’s time for us to stop tolerating these ratfucking liars.

It's pretty interesting what the media decides is front page news and what they don't decide is front page news! Trump being a child sex abuser with close connections to Jeffrey Epstein somehow doesn't merit the same coverage as "unnamed Dem insider has concerns about Biden's age"

Words of clarity from a Dem staffer, who points out how these corporate media companies are relying shady sourcing and quotes without context to push a narrative of hysteria and disarray.

Also consider this Dem staffer’s words of caution wrt media using quotes out of context to push a “Dems in disarray” narrative. The hysteria—real or not—drives clicks, etc.

One thing I think people forget is how relentlessly *stupid* every day of the Trump administration was. He doesn’t need to do a big elaborate complicated conspiracy, he can just (e.g.) email a list of every U.S. agent in the field to Putin and say it’s to own the libs, and *that* will have immunity.

1/ Let me explain one way that today's Trump immunity decision threatens the survival of the Republic. Under today's ruling, a President would be immune for any way in which he used the military (a "core function"), even to kill American citizens in America. Theoretically, the soldiers who . . .

I really have lost my former tolerance for "we're doomed/fucked/it's all over/they've won" takes at this point, in that they're the most dangerous attitudes one could possibly have when confronted with a truly existential political threat (which we still DO have levers to address).

/7 Justice Roberts smug and superior dismissal of the dissents’ concerns seems to come to us via time warp from some time that never knew Trump. The danger of lawlessness he poses are manifest — he and his followers brag of them. Only a liar or fool would dismiss them.

That was my reaction to Chevron, too. If the SC wants to take on the burden of making regulatory decisions, the bench needs to grow—and not just SCOTUS: Federal and Appeals courts, too.

We probably ought to have a conversation about a partisan court declaring Trump above the rule of law that is at least as intense as the one we've had about Joe Biden being very old.

Yes! Biden should use Chevron to justify it: “the Executive Branch is all too familiar with the due diligence required to oversee the safety & welfare of Americans and our environment. The Chevron decision means the SC & fed courts will need more personnel to adequately perform the new duties.”

This deserves a longer write up than I can give it right now, but Biden would be much better off arguing that Trump isn’t a valid candidate than arguing that we should pick him over Trump. He’s avoided it because he thinks Trump is his only argument, but he needs more if we’re gonna win this.

My spouse ripped a Trump sticker off the side of a gas pump today and a senior citizen said “hey! You put that back on there!” Spouse: “I will not,” and dropped it in a trash can. A minute later, we were inside the gas station and the Trumper was *still* whining to her husband about the incident.

Just at the most basic level it is really unhealthy to have to thought about Donald Trump as much as everyone in America has over the last nine or so years. Spending a decade of my life thinking about a super boring, super shitty crook and all the bad stuff he's doing or might do. It's embarrassing.

In a fucked up turn of events, I would use the end of Chevron as the excuse to expand the court and the whole judiciary by pointing out that they don’t have the capacity to hear all the cases they just gave themselves. 27 justices, double the size of the circuits. Huh. Thanks John Roberts.
