....have you tried Blackwings by any chance? They're a step above Ticonderoga though a bit less widely known. They're also the kind of pencil you'll get compliments on, and, if you work in an office, guard them jealously because coworkers WILL try to "accidentally" steal them.

Okay but Stanley tape measures are seriously top tier. I regularly get compliments on mine working well when I let someone else borrow it and they go "oh wow this is better than usual." It's like going from a random Walmart-brand pencil to a very nice Ticonderoga.

In "Testament: The Story of Moses" on Netflix, there's a scene of Pharoah's son being draped in a golden stole of what appears to be #Byssus.

You're looking at the only known fossilized skeleton of a sauropod dino called "Amargasaurus", recovered from the La Amarga Formation in Argentina. One of the smallest sauropods at 13 m in length & 2-4 tons in weight, the distinctive 'neural spines' projecting from the vertebrae are a puzzle.

The crime is the point for Evil, always. I can leave her home alone and she does no crime. If I'm in a different room she does no crime. She wants me to see it, to know she's making me mad. If a crime happens in the forest where no one is around to witness it, was it even a crime? Evil says no

When we talk about autism being pathologized constantly, this is it. A study showed autistic participants weren't fooled by an illusion (touching an avatar and your brain tricking you into thinking you were touched) but NT participants were. Scientists were like is this because they lack empathy?🤔

One of my favorite spiders, a beautiful green lynx spider (Peucetia viridans). They don't use a web to catch prey, but instead are ambush hunters - this young one was hanging out on a sunflower waiting for visiting insects. I never get tired of photographing this species. 🐙 🌿 #arachnids

I got her the fluent pet buttons and this has helped somewhat, but she really is not very interested in communicating much beyond specific demands and to express how mad she is all the time. I tried to give her happy buttons like "love you" and "friend" but she did not give a damn about them.

One of the issues with Evil specifically is that she is *really fucking smart.* Too smart for her own good. e.g. she HATES when her food bowl is less than heaping, and she learned to blackmail me by biting my books. She KNOWS which are fancy editions—she seeks them out, ignoring cheaper books.

I come from Florida. I've seen what "forcing into treatment" looks like. It looks like picking up traumatized people on Baker Act charges and involuntarily holding them in underfunded, understaffed, dangerous asylums, where they are tranquilized and forgotten. It looks like atrocity.

Shawl blocking time! Evil for scale. The long edge ended up a bit tight towards the short edge, as I swapped to a stretchier bind off border a little ways in. The mohair was VERY sticky and made it tough to frog, and since I'll wear it in a cowl sort of way anyway... I figured it didn't matter 😂

did you know that if you go to trim your hair but you forget to put the guard on the clippers it actually just shaves in a long strip up the back of your scalp instead of only trimming down to 7/8" like you intended anyway i have an undercut now
