One of my favorite spiders, a beautiful green lynx spider (Peucetia viridans). They don't use a web to catch prey, but instead are ambush hunters - this young one was hanging out on a sunflower waiting for visiting insects. I never get tired of photographing this species. 🐙 🌿 #arachnids

I got her the fluent pet buttons and this has helped somewhat, but she really is not very interested in communicating much beyond specific demands and to express how mad she is all the time.
I tried to give her happy buttons like "love you" and "friend" but she did not give a damn about them.

One of the issues with Evil specifically is that she is *really fucking smart.* Too smart for her own good.
e.g. she HATES when her food bowl is less than heaping, and she learned to blackmail me by biting my books. She KNOWS which are fancy editions—she seeks them out, ignoring cheaper books.

every time someone at my company sends an email out to 100+ people and puts them in the "to" line instead of the "bcc" line I always, always have the intrusive thought to be the one who starts the pointless, inevitable reply all chain

POV: you were just told that you are not allowed to lay on the shawl your human JUST finished knitting which is, conveniently, white mohair, a color that will definitely not show black cat fur on it

Just making sure you’ve all seen this. Artist Chavis mármol has crushed a Tesla with a giant Olmec head sculpture and I think it is very, very beautiful

Contacted a friend who rescues angry feral cats, she recommended this hand gesture, which they call the Llama of Friendship
It may mimic non-threatening inquisitive cat ears, but regardless of the mechanism I have learned I will not be attacked as long as one hand is llama-shaped

I come from Florida.
I've seen what "forcing into treatment" looks like.
It looks like picking up traumatized people on Baker Act charges and involuntarily holding them in underfunded, understaffed, dangerous asylums, where they are tranquilized and forgotten.
It looks like atrocity.

Shawl blocking time! Evil for scale.
The long edge ended up a bit tight towards the short edge, as I swapped to a stretchier bind off border a little ways in. The mohair was VERY sticky and made it tough to frog, and since I'll wear it in a cowl sort of way anyway... I figured it didn't matter 😂

Bitcoin consumes about 2.5% of US electricity, about the same as all residential cooling. An article decrying *that* electricity usage as a personal moral failing would be much less tone deaf.

did you know that if you go to trim your hair but you forget to put the guard on the clippers it actually just shaves in a long strip up the back of your scalp instead of only trimming down to 7/8" like you intended

Businesses are already passing along the costs of congestion to their customers in the form of wasted fuel and money spent paying delivery drivers an hourly wage to sit in traffic. The fallacy we have to counter is that the status quo is free. It is not.
