Either the Democrats will run Biden, or he'll say he can't continue the campaign and Democrats will run Harris. Either is newsworthy, but neither is nearly as radical as running a pro-insurrection convicted felon with legal immunity he's eager to use.

What's crazy-making is that T skates every time. I mean e-v-e-r-y t-i-m-e. SCOTUS just immunized him against most/all of his current trials, his current fines for E Jean will likely be significantly reduced, and his supporters and/or the RNC pays his bills anyway. It's madness.

2/ ... confirming a new VP requires majority votes in the House and the Senate. If there is no VP, then Mike Johnson is next in line to the presidency. I think there's a very good argument that the House would not confirm anyone Harris nominated as VP.

1/ I'm agnostic as to whether Biden should withdraw from the race. It's a genuinely tough question IMO. But I have clarity on one thing: He should absolutely not step down as president. If Harris becomes President, the Vice Presidency is empty. Under the 25th Amendment ...

The folks who won't vote for Biden b/c he might die in six months (and Harris becomes president) will not vote for Harris. It's 1944 vs. 1968. If you advocate an open/brokered convention the examples are 1924 or 1980, neither good.

This is predictable but so important: Pasteurizing milk kills the H5N1 bird flu virus that is circulating widely in dairy cattle. It's easy to take a 150-year-old technique that has saved countless lives for granted, but don't fool around with unpasteurized dairy products. 🧪
