Nothing is stopping every single Democratic elected official and apparatchik from taking the airwaves every single day to articulately and decisively repeat a set of cogent talking points about Trump (ie 45). Nothing. Dem PACs could be slamming him with ads now. Stop whining and do that.

It's not hypothetical that he posted whining about how he doesn't want anyone advocating for court packing. It's just a realness he made.

regardless of what happens with the nomination, i will say this generation of dems--biden, pelosi, shumer, durbin, clyburn--have kindled a deep-seated hatred in me for them and their leadership, which is quite a feat given that i'm a lifelong dem who's voted, volunteered, and donated for 24 years

the implied premise here is that the decline in Biden’s polling numbers is being driven by the media coverage rather than the debate itself. but several awful polls came in the days immediately following the debate. the debate itself was the problem

sorry but this is just wrong. yes, there’s a bad faith media feeding frenzy. but *fifty million* people watched Biden sputter his way through that debate. it is not a creation of the media, it is a real problem.

I find it interesting that people who correctly point out 45 is a pathological liar are pretending that they don't notice Biden's cognitive decline. If you're honest, you can say 'yes it's clear that he is in cognitive decline, HE'S 81 and I still think that he needs to be the nominee for x reasons'

yes, we boiled the planet, but it was worth it to make a machine that, instead of adding two plus two, takes the statistical average of every answer to questions containing "what" "is" "two" and "plus" from a database of illegal cell phone transcripts and returns a fake nude pic of a high schooler

imo "representative democracy" is best understood as a system that allows elites to vie for power bloodslessly often it's in little people's best interests to maintain that since the nearest alternative is us dying in pointless dynastic wars but when the right-wing party just wants mass death…

a thing these conserva-monarchist freaks do kinda get right is that the "sovereign" — whether a person or the state as a whole — is basically just a designated monster the "monopoly on violence" is just a brutality machine that we pretend is saving us from some kind of nebulous *other* violence

I think that an insidious mistruth that is spread during Presidential elections in particular is that most of the people who do vote are planning to be engaged in other politics beyond voting on a regular basis. Pick the enemy you want to fight is belied by the fact that most won't fight that enemy.

Provide a solution to the metaphorical problem and also, translate that solution into a solution in the problem in the real world. Lucas's writing about how a society falls to fascism can identify some problems like the Jedi losing track of their purpose, and fear mongering about a war being used
