Great to see Ford CEO Jim Farley acknowledging this:

“We are just in love with these monster vehicles ... We have to start to get back in love with smaller vehicles. It’s super important for our society and for EV adoption.”

👏👏👏

You know how sometimes in war there’s the one side who has rules and thinks they know how war is fought but then they’re shocked, SHOCKED, when the other side runs out of the bushes and like, stabs their horses and shit? And that side wins? Yeah I think about that phenomenon a lot these days.

a thing to remember, in all of this horror, is that these are not the actions of a political party that is confident it represents the will of the people, and who is currently out of power and enslaved to a deeply flawed avatar. the struggle is not over and they have not won

Sorry to all my lawyer friends who spent a bunch of time learning how law works in the US. I had friends who were Flash developers and things turned out alright for them after they pivoted to C# or whatever. Hopefully there's an equivalent for our national legal system

Much like the Hillary vs Trump debates, I think the media is focused too heavily on theatrical "performance" and not as heavily on what the actual effect on undecided voters is, and Trump was a disaster there despite (or because of) his ability to shout

God Bless Paul Davies and the @PhillyInquirer: "The only person who should withdraw from the race is Trump...There was only one person at the debate who does not deserve to be running for president. The sooner Trump exits the stage, the better off the country will be."

All those "4th turning" guys from ZeroHedge are gonna celebrate a win, but even their little pet theory recognizes that once everything gets burned to the ground the next step is you have to get rid of the destructive leaders (boomers) so that the 1st-turning people who come next can rebuild

Not to mention that "slippery slope" is a class of logical *fallacy*, not some kind of objective lens through which to arrive at preferred interpretation of the case It's like "we wish we could preserve this law, but plaintiff's slanderous ad-hominem arguments convinced us to go the other way"

Hmm, that sounds like a foreseeable outcome. If a company knew, or should have known, that the tool would likely discriminate... is using it anyway evidence of intent?

Also I can't read the name of the city without thinking "Grass Pants" I would have said it like that out loud to the judge (I'd be shocked if, in all the hours of litigation that has gone into this, somebody hasn't said it in open court)
